Gender Affirming Care: Informed Consent, Letter Writing, & Clinical Considerations

This workshop will equip mental health professionals with key strategies for providing gender-affirming care. Participants will learn how to offer empowering support to transgender clients throughout their transition and explore how to implement an informed consent model to reduce barriers to care. Additionally, the workshop will cover the structure of a WPATH assessment and the process for writing a surgical readiness letter, ensuring professionals can guide clients through these steps in a clinically responsible and supportive manner. Participants will leave with practical tools to enhance their ability to provide inclusive, client-centered care.
