Learn To Knit

If you have ever wanted to learn to knit or just need a refresher, now is your chance in this hands-on beginner workshop. Participants will learn how to cast on, knit, purl, and bind off. Led by the museum staff Raye-Valion Gillette and Alexandra Kean, the workshop also covers how to read simple patterns, choose the right yarn and needles, and troubleshoot common beginner mistakes. By the end of the session, you’ll have the skills and confidence to start your first project.

All materials are provided, and no prior experience is necessary. Come curious and leave inspired with something handmade to show off!

Where is the workshop?

The class will be held at the Museum of Eastern Shore Culture, located at 218 W Main Street in downtown Salisbury.

Do I need to bring anything?

All supplies are included in the ticket.

Where can I park and is it free?
